Fall at the Falls
Engagement portraits are one of our all-time favorite events to photograph, especially with couples like Bao and Marlin who are willing to brave the rocks to get some killer photographs at Snoqualmie Falls! The Autumn light is soft and beautiful, and created a mood almost as breathtaking as the falls themselves.

Simply Gorgeous
Miwa and Devin were such a fun couple to photograph, and we were blessed with that crisp autumn weather that just makes the day perfect. My personal favorite is the one of Miwa gazing wistfully out the window of the Bentley ... she looked so serene and elegant!

Embers with Amber
As photographers, one of the best ways to improve our craft is to challenge ourselves with special projects. These are my favs from Amber's latest project, a series of images of firefighters in action. It is easy to forget how much these men risk to keep us safe, and these beautiful images remind me to be grateful for the sacrifices they give.

Shannon + Jess = Vintage Style
I love it when a wedding theme fits the couple, the venue, and the day perfectly! Shannon and Jess had such a great funky-edgy-vintage look to their day, and we had a blast with their wedding. My favorite moment was when they spontaneously broke into a 'happy dance' at the during the ceremony when they were pronounced officially married. So cute!

Dodging the Drops
Erin and Collin made the journey from California to Washington for their wedding on Saturday and discovered the secret of living in Seattle: having fun with the rain! We managed to dodge the drops long enough to take some quick photographs at Pike's Place, followed by a gorgeous ceremony at Villa Academy (one of my absolute favorite chapels.) Congratulations, Erin and Collin!

Voletta Couture Fashion Show
Voletta Couture and Rag Men's Style partnered up for a fabulous Fall Fashion show as part of The Bellevue Collection's Fashion Week. Voletta asked Azzura to photograph the event, and we put together a cool little video so you can see all the highlights. (For some bizarre reason in some browsers it is very choppy the first time you play it, so if it looks wierd just re-run it - trust me, it's worth it!)
A Sneak-Peak of Things to Come
Ken and I have been busy photographing over the last few weeks! We will soon be updating our main Azzura website with some fresh images, so here is a sneak-peak of a few of the additions. :)

The Chocolate Bar: Edible Décor!
When I walked into Sharon and Jantzen's reception, I thought I had died and gone to coco heaven. A dessert bar dripping in chocolate stretched for almost twenty feet, featuring every yummy thing I could imagine. Seriously, it would have made Willy Wonka proud. The best part was that it was so beautifully assembled that it actually added to the ambiance of the room. What could be better than edible decor?
Kristina + Peter = Retro Charm
The Hotel Deca was the ideal venue for Kristina and Peter - the retro-chic look was so fabulous, and even Kristina' hair style (which I LOVED) matched the theme perfectly. Later this week I'll share some of the creative ways they brought in some Boston flair from Peter's home town.
When we started photographing, Kristina mentioned how much she loved Liesl and Nick's album that we have posted in our website portfolio. As soon as she said that, about a hundred ideas came to me! I can't wait to design their album, and we will be sure to share it when it is ready!

Lisa + Jason = Happiness
The images speak for themselves ... we had so much fun with Lisa and Jason! They were so relaxed and truly embraced the day - it was wonderful to see them together, and the candid photographs of them showed their personalities perfectly!

The image on the left is one of my favorites of the day - our flower girl is a budding photographer! While we were photographing the whole wedding party, I noticed her stealthily taking some photos of everyone from the side ... before she knew it, she became the highlight of our photograph!

A Wine Country Wedding
We loved the details at Shirin and Brian's wedding, which creatively combined a simple elegance with the modern, natural feeling of the winery. My personal favorite was their placecard holders, cleverly created from the wine corks of past celebrations!

A New Perspective
This image is one of my favorites this year, and is virtually untouched by photoshop. I will keep my fingers crossed for more gorgeous sunsets this year!
Laura + Matt = Laughter
We had SO much fun with Laura and Matt last weekend ... their sense of adventure was contagious, and their love for each other, their family, and their friends made the day unforgettable. There are quite a few more that I am anxious to share with you, so be sure to check back next week for a few more sneak-peaks!

When it Rains ...
In the Persian tradition, rain on your Wedding Day is considered good luck because each drop signifies a blessing you will receive. Last Sunday, Della and Navid were blessed beyond belief! As the rain created a soft audible backdrop, we took advantage of this quiet moment to create one of my favorite images of the year.
